What does Majority Leader Murtha have to say about this?

If it comes down to this, Clinton wins the Democratic nomination and McCain wins the general. The voters are the losers.

    Dear AL Independent,

    You’re the LOSER!

You can still vote for Ron Paul! He is still in the race.

And we wonder why democrats can’t get a damn thing done.

Every answer they give to a question sounds like a 16 year-old kid standing in front of a clerk at a liquor store trying to remember the address and birthdate on his fake ID he just acquired from some smelly hippy from the wrong side of the tracks.

I hope to God (whatever that is to you) that someone writes a period piece on the democratic controled house and calls it “Lessons in Stupid – the Pelosi years”

I swear to God (whatever that is to you) the little tax deductions on “Kid Nation” accomplished more than the gaggle of over educated rich liberals of the democratic party did last year.

Democrats are the answer… to the question “What’s that floating in the toilet?”

Count up the delegates remaining, omitting all superdelegates and you’ll quickly find that as of today, this posting, there is no way for either candidate to gain enough delegates to win the nomination without superdelegates. If you do the math, you’ll find that Hoyer’s correct.

Does not Hillary also have a majority of the votes cast?

As usual, Pelosi is just making noise. The superdelegate system was instituted after the McGovern disaster, which demonstrated that “the people” haven’t the faintest idea who’s electable in a general election. The entire function of the superdelegates is to give the party poobahs the ability to override the “will of the people.” It’s reasonable to assume that they’ll do their best to do just that.

Vote for Ron Paul? And you have the nerve to call someone else a loser?

  10. CapLounge Lizard asks: “What does Majority Leader Murtha have to say about this?”

He’s probably still counting the money. As usual, whoever pays Mad Jack more gets his vote — that’s been his way since his ABSCAM days and it’s his way now.

Aren’t Bill and Chelsea also super-delegates? Shouldn’t they recuse themselves to avoid nepotism?

I know that Bill is; NY gives a superdelegate spot to past presidents. I don’t know about Chelsea.

Murtha rejected many an offer – accepted the counter offer every time though.

Where were the superdelegates in 1984? Running against Reagan, you’d think the LAST person the Dems would want to put up was the rabbit-slayer’s veep.

They would not have mattered even if they had opposed him. Mondale, running against light opposition (his two major challengers were Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown and Senator Gary “Follow Me Around” Hart) won the great majority of delegates and locked up the nomination well before the convention.
